How many locs ?

I have about 110 locs. But some of them are already looking larger than I want. I think I am going to split some of them. I am also considering self maintaining. To be continued...

A Thursday Walk

Many afternoons after I pick my daughter up from preschool. We conduct nature walks. She gets restless very easily so I devised a game that would keep her entertained for the duration of the walk. The game goes like this first Mama finds a flower and then she has to find the next one. This game goes by quite quickly and before we know it we are at home. Here are some pics from our last walk.

My Loc Journey

This is what my hair looked like after my first wash. I used Dark and Lovely Naturally Soothing Sensations Peppermint Shampoo ™ . After wards I retwisted the front using Carol's Daughters Loc Butter ™ .

My Loc Journey

I have been wanting to loc my hair for several years. I have a bit of opposition to chemically treating MY hair. Note : MY HAIR. I do not look down upon women who do. I had my first relaxer when I was 13 years old. I continued to relax my hair for about 4 years, and eventually decided that was not for me. I decided I did not like having my natural curl pattern processed, so I cut my hair to my shoulders and began to alternate between the natural hair or a press, with a few eposides of weaves and braids in between. I began my loc journey on Novemeber 19, 2008.
